This week I watched Dating Amber by David Freyne, the latest entry in my Irish Fascination Special Collection. Amber is aces, and her buddy Eddie does enough growing up that we have hope for him too. Everything in this film feels very real and well lived –the hints at unhappy parents, the uncertainty of adult plans, the trials of young love. It’s not new or uncharted ground for film, but it is very well executed. I’m a fan.
